South Carolina Veterinary Specialists and Emergency Care offers an externship program for veterinary students in their 3rd or 4th year to help their clinical training and expand their level of experience. We practice high-quality medicine using state-of-the-art technology at one of the largest veterinary hospitals in South Carolina. Veterinary students may apply for an externship lasting 2-6 weeks.

Client Care Coordinator
We want you to be the “face” of our practice! We are looking for team members to join our staff as a full time Client Care Coordinator. Working in the animal healthcare field can be one of the most rewarding career opportunities you’ll ever have. So if you only have experience in the human side of medicine, then no worries. Typically the transition from human to animal medicine is a smooth one. Qualified applicants must be energetic and able to work proficiently in a fast paced environment. In addition to a professional appearance, applicants must be able to always greet clients with a smile, yet also recognize when comfort and compassion are needed. Patience is an invaluable asset in this position. Computer skills, multi-taking, adaptability to rapidly changing situations, and reliability are all must-haves for our Client Care Coordinators. The most important quality to have in this position though is the ability to show compassion to both our patients and their owners, while still maintaining critical thinking and attention to detail. Because our hospital operates 24/7, applicants must be available to work varying shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and occasional holidays, although we always try to keep shifts as regular for each employee as possible.
