Dr. Sara Fritz
Dr. Sara Fritz of Philadelphia joins SCVSEC as a doctor of Small Animal Veterinary Oncology. She completed her Bachelor of Animal Bioscience with a minor in Veterinary Medicine at Pennsylvania State University where she competed on the Division I Women’s Water Polo team. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Mississippi State University and completed a small animal medicine and surgery rotating internship at Kansas State University. She finished her small animal oncology residency at University of Minnesota where she served as chief resident her final year.
During her residency, Dr. Fritz lectured nationally on a spectrum of tumor types and was awarded a research certificate on osteosarcoma (bone cancer). Professional interests include osteosarcoma, lymphoma/leukemia, and novel therapeutics to treat cancer, radiation oncology, palliative care and maximizing cancer patients’ quality of life.
After Hours: Dr. Fritz enjoys running, swimming, gardening, and anything involving the outdoors. She never turns down a relaxing night with good friends, food, and cuddle time on the couch with her dogs, Jackson and Brutus.
