2015 Practice Manager Of The Year
Petplan Pet Insurance awarded Gretchen Dillon-Sauer its 2015 Petplan Practice Manager of the Year January 18 at the North American Veterinary Community (NAVC) conference in Orlando.
Petplan said Gretchen’s nomination stood out because it “showed how she has achieved the perfect balancing act between caring for SCVSEC’s clients and the clinic team.”
“She is a dependable and fair manager,” said co-worker Emily Corstange. “She goes above and beyond for all of our clients but not at the expense of us. She recognizes good work, is a great team player, and is supportive and motivating.”
Like so many of her SCVSEC colleagues, Gretchen lives her work, caring for her family’s urban farm whose members include parrots, chickens, peafowl, ducks, miniature KuneKune pigs, alpaca, Dexter bull, Xoloitzcuintli dogs, Cavalier King Charles show dogs, and Eyelash Geckos.
Explaining what drew her to veterinary medicine, Gretchen said, “At the hospital, we tell those who have stray pets come up to their front door, “They chose you.” Well veterinary medicine has chosen me. After 13 years and counting, I think it was the right choice!”
Her menagerie knows it’s the right choice. They’re grateful to have the 2015 Practice Manager of the Year looking after them.
